The Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) organized a Technical Seminar (Training Seminar) on Monday, November 30, 2015 in the auditorium of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, in order to inform the implementing bodies of the integrated Operations in GR-03 Program / Renewable Energy of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (EEA FM) 2009-2014.

Present at the EEA Grants Renewable Energy Programme technical seminar was the Greek Minister of Environment and Energy PanosSkourletis and the Norwegian Embassy’s Deputy Head of Mission Roger Jørgensen.

 


The EU climate and energy key targets to be met by 2020 are:

  1. 20% cut in greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 levels.
  2. 20% of EUs energy from renewables.
  3. 20% improvement in energyefficiency.

The targets are also the headline of the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The Renewable Energy Programme of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (EEA FM) 2009-2014 has a wide geographical dispersion in Greece: Grevena, Thrace, Andros, Alexandroupolis, Attica, Karpenisi, Crete and Nafplio.
